Got my ptg go gage in, installed barrel,.223, checked it with .003 cut out of feeler gage, wouldn't close, tried .0015 I could close it but had pressure, is this ok?

You headspace is less than .003. Did I mention using cello tape, .002 on end of go gauge to see if less than two. ;D ::)

I just did another one, used the pieces cut out of feeler gauge,.003 had some resistance trying to close bolt but it would close,.004 would not close, this still ok?

You are using a go-gage to adjust the length of the chamber from the shoulder to the bolt face. Why are you using shims? I could understand if you were deterring the difference in length between the case from the shoulder to the case head and chamber from the shoulder of the chamber to the bolt face.

On mine I used go gauge. Then added a single piece of scotch tape on it. The bolt handle barely moved with that. So should be about 0.001". But I also had no go gauge to verify. They both resulted in bolt handle barely moving when trying to close bolt.
