I ordered the 105 Hybrids in November, I called this morn, and they said I ordered VLDs. Apparently a number is screwed up in the computer. Not a problem, crap happens.

She said they were in stock, so I told her to just cancel the other order and send me a couple 500 boxes. She said she would have to check things out and get back to me in a couple hours. Didn't happen. I called back in the evening, and she again said she would call me right back. That didn't happen either.

I don't know whats going on, it seems simple, just send me them since she verified they have them. I don't understand what has to be "checked out".

Bill when I last posted she checked as I was speaking to her acc said they had them. If anyone needs them order them.

And if it was me, I would place my order and cancel the backorder. Since for some reason they have them now and according to some, aren't shipping back orders

Update

Received today, 500 Berger target bullets (6mm 105 hybrid) Was shipped from WA. Ordered Feb 27.
Bullets are in 100 count Berger yellow boxes, 5 boxes in the order. Boxes were shrink wrapped and labeled as "500"
As previous post, figure someone in PA, was opening the Berger boxes and putting 500 bullets in the plastic bags. Go figure.

LHSmith - What are 'Rogue bullet spinners'

Bullet spinner- one who uses a Juenke machine to check bullet integrity.
No way would I accept "name brand" bullets that were not in sealed boxes.....and to receive them like factory seconds in a plastic bag?

you would have to assume they were same lot number, but I would feel much better if they were all in the yellow boxes

You got me curious so i got out my comparator and started checking my order of 1000 bullets Berger 90 grain match target , checked about 50 and they were so consistent I quiet checking ;D

they seem to have gotten the pricing bugs worked out from the launch.
They still have some glitches to work out. I tried to order some Bergers the other day. my billing address for my card is different than shipping address. that shut their system down, so I called in and the lady still wasn't able to get the system to accept the the different addresses

Had to order them from Goug uno's as bad as I hated to

I had the same experience as Gina1 - Ordered 500 105 gr Hybrids and were put on BO.

I placed my order on 12/31/13 and received them about ten days ago. They were shipped in bulk in one plastic bag which had the bottom torn out. There was a smaller cardboard box with the bullets inside a slightly larger box. Yes, they had tumbled around a bit on the journey from PA to N. Calif, but I didn't see any dents. Some minor scratching, but since I don't shoot at 1000 yards will probably not matter.

I did notice that there was some minor staining on some of the bullets as though they had not been completely cleaned up after the mfg process. I chalked it up to ramped up production to meet demand.

I did check the diameter after reading the thread from a week ago. They were very consistent with other lot numbers I have on hand. The ogive spread was minor and approx 90% were within .002. The ogive measurement was consistent with others I have checked from different lots.

Exactly how my box of 500 Berger .30 cal. 210 gr. VLDs were shipped to me last summer from Powder Valley. The plastic bag inside the bullet box was so thick there was no way it was going to break (and it didn't). I was impressed with the packing design.

There should be no opening boxes if Berger isn't shipping them this way, I could see buying brass bulk and splitting up for selling but not target bullets

Like I said earlier, I have been very happy with Grizzly. They accepted my backorder, priced the bullets reasonably, and kept in communication throughout the process. All that being said, I wish we could get an explanation as to why the Berger Bullets were shipped in a plastic bag and big box.

That's exactly what happened to me. I order Hybrids and they had it as VLDs. It was a item number problem. It happened to a bunch of people.

Received email indicating 105 hybrids that I ordered 2 days ago were shipped. Don't know where the Nov 30 order went but I guess all is well in River City. Must be LIFO instead of FIFO.

I just ordered a 6mm barrel from them. Because I wanted it shipped to a different address than my home address the web site wouldn't let me do it. So I called and got Robin on the line and she was very courteous and hung in there with me cajoling the system until the order went through. I'll reserve final judgment until the barrel arrives, but I'm pleased for now.

First things first -

O.P. - thank you for your compliment. We try and be responsive to customers' needs. I actually added 4 new barrels based on very recent customer requests. In case you are wondering which ones they are here is the information:

All Bartleins -

T10820 - 6mm, 8 twist, 4 groove, 1.25" straight, 30" finished
T10821 - 6mm, 8 twist, 5R, 1.25" straight, 30" finished
T10822 - 6mm, 8 twist, 4 groove, Heavy Varmint taper, 30" finished
T10823 - .30 Cal, 17 twist, #9 HV, 28" finished.

Should be in stock in a few months (I think I got 50 of each or something like that ordered). If you want one, get it on back order so when they come in you will get yours. Give it a couple of days as these are new model numbers.

Now then - about the bullets. We had one employee, at our PA location, that opened up some boxes of Bergers to make up the 500 lots. I know - defies logic, and I went through the roof when I found out what took place. Not too often that I blow a gasket like that . Needless to say, it was stopped within minutes after we found out and only a handful of customers got them that way. The rest got boxes of 100s, wrapped together as 500s. The reason this came about was that on several models of bullets Berger only shipped us the 100s and none of the 500 packs. Even though we pay more for the 100s, we wanted to fill the backorders for the 500 packs and so decided to give them five of the 100 packs. The handful of customers that got the "repackaged" bullets - we are very sorry and a couple of them have sent them back to us for replacement.

Needless to say a good deed turned into a bit of a ruckus for us due to lack of training of one employee, but its been handled and will never happen again. We have spoken to Berger about it as well so every one is up to speed on it.
