I would be coming from Chattanooga. How many benches? If y'all have a big crowd, will there be relay's , or?
What type of targets?

TIA,
Bill

1st round- ARA target @ 50 yards, unlimited sighters, one shot per bull, can go back to sighters at any time, 20 min time limit.

2nd round- Reactive Targets (dum dum suckers) 10 @ 75 yards. 15 shots total to use as you please, only 15 rounds on the bench allowed.

3rd round- Reactive Targets (golf balls) @ 100 yards, same rules as 2nd round.

Bonus round- 8 disc swinger target @100 yards, 10 shots total, 2 sighters must be used, then 8 shots for 8 discs, shoot any combination of discs for score.

$30 entry fee covers range fee and match entry, depending on # of entries determines payout at the end.

6 benches, enough rounds to cover the number of shooters will be held.

I've never shot at 100 but want to try it at CRC. Is it possible to just observe the first time to see if I would enjoy participating?

Yes sir. I've had several others ask the same question actually. Feel free to come over and check it out. But, this is our last match of the year bc deer season is coming up and a lot of the guys do hunt. Bring your equipment and you'll likely sign up and shoot, just to feel it out. ;)

Will you be posting your 2023 shooting program on this site? Might have a gun ready for it!

Thanks.
As of now it's still a fledgling program, this was the first season it was put together. I'll talk with the guys and see what the plans are for next year and get back here with what I find out. As of now I'd say they'll keep trying to advertise the match date a month or so out as they've been trying to do with the previous ones. I'll keep it posted here for sure when I find out. ;)

Btw I know a guy from down your way that's planning to be up here as well. Not sure how far you guys are from each other but might possibly be a ride share situation to save on gas! ;)

For the ARA match, can we have 30, 25/5 sighter rounds of pre-loaded 5/10 round mags on the bench during the match? Rifle is a 457 American.

There are unlimited sighters for the 50 yard match and I don't believe there is a limit to how many rounds are on the bench for that particular round at 50 yards. I've kept a 100 round box on the bench during that round each time I've shot. The rounds are limited tho on the 2nd, 3rd, and bonus rounds tho.

It turned out to be a good day after all the rain we had just prior to the event! It literally stopped raining as we got to the range, and started back as we were leaving! Wind played a big role as usual on the mtn. We had a good time and a couple of spectators showed up to watch and ask questions, young man and his Mother. He was very interested in getting into the shooting sports so we all accommodated his questions, which were many! ;) Always glad to help the sport grow! This was the last match of the year for our group, and the next match will be scheduled for sometime in March. Will advise
