Separating brass

It seems I may be forced to have 2 rifles of the same caliber. IF I find the need to keep the brass separate(hopefully not), how would be the best way to mark the brass? I do not clean my brass other than wiping after sizing.

I just use Magic Markers of different colors. I actually do this for load development so I don't mix the charge weights up. I use the larger markers. Red, blue and black. Just color the case heads. Easy removed with alcohol on a rag whenever you want the markings gone. Stays put well otherwise.

Don’t mix them up, use separate containers for each lot number and chamber. Easy peezy

Here are somethings made for the job

It amazes me the amount of money shooters spend to put a Sharpie mark on a piece of brass. Just keep brass for each rifle in separate boxes and write on the box. It's not rocket science.
A sharpie is awfully cheap and has multiple uses. I'd rather do that as opposed to hauling multiple boxes to the range, but I can't just step out my back door and shoot any longer, either.
There's no one single best solution. Same as any other aspect of the shooting sports. Personally, I like to hear about multiple solutions. Sometimes I see one that's a better fit for me.

You need to keep the brass seperate. Don't ever mix them, label each batch, that's how you mark the brass to the rifle. Problem solved.

I have a 6br and a 6BRX. At a quick glance they look the same. I just use two MTM boxes clearly marked on top 6BR or 6BRX. No reason to make it complicated. Before I go to the range or hunting I usualy take 1 out of the box and verufy by neck length.

Forced? Already have a Dasher. Having another rifle built and builder suggested a Dasher. If I built another caliber and rifle didn’t shoot up to expectations, I would always question my decision. I know a Dasher will shoot. Kids won’t hear of me rebarreling current Dasher to anything else.

I have 10 rifles, all the same caliber, 223 Rem. Each rifle has its own set of dedicated cases. I learn a long time ago that if you are a precision shooter, this is the only way to go to accomplish optimum sizing and case fit.

Here's what I do. Each group of cases has its own MTM containers, labeled with the rifle that it is dedicated to. I've been doing this way since dinosaurs roamed the earth - no need to develop elaborate marking systems - no need to go into the weeds on this. I have never had an issue keeping the case segregated to their assigned rifle.

I stopped tumbling about 2 years ago when my tumbler died. Now I simply clean the necks with 0000 steel wool, which I always did even when I tumbled, then lay on a towel, lightly spray with mineral spirits and wipe clean. Cases are pristine clean.

This allows me to manage my segregated cases much easier, allowed me to eliminate a piece of equipment, a tumbler, and a consumable, media. But the real significant advantage is that I do not have media residue on the cases after tumbling which if not removed, will form a mud and gum up your sizing die.

Ok! See above!^^^^^^
PS: Years ago, I asked Bob Green to do a few barrels for me. Three in 223, three in 6br, a 30-47, a 30 br, a 338 Win Mag and a 6.5 x 47. They ALL shoot well! I keep ALL the loads and brass in dedicated boxes clearly marked for each gun. Pretty simple.
