This is not about old military bases or forest fires. This sell-off is about hundreds of thousands of acres of land of all types. It is also typically not about places where individuals want to build a house. When "Open space" is cut up, there is no true Open Space left. The areas reserved for special creatures is a small dot on the map, so it isn't about that. This sell off is about special interest groups making a lot of money.

That depends on who you believe.
I for one don't believe a word the Wilderness society or Tracy Stone- Manning is spinning or any group or individual like her.
That includes ABC. CBS, NBC, CNN, Newsweek. The Hill, MSNBC etc.

Of course not. The people that bought the homes are, if they want water. They are on their own. We did it for years by choice. But I don't think these people that buy these homes are even aware of what is to come.

Well I am Jim, a helluva alot better than Tester, there was a tremendous amount of money behind Tester and B.S commercials.
There was a huge sign right in the middle of Big Sandy supporting Sheehy that should tell you something. The likes of Newberg and BHA were behind most of the negative sportsman ads.

I for one didn't read the Newsweek article, barely skimmed it. I went straight to the measure and read it. I can read and I can think for myself, don't need any news outfit or political types telling me how to interpret the measure but that's exactly what they are hoping people will do, they want us to listen to them. This change has a bad smell all over it.

I don’t have cable tv, we gave that up a while back. It’s really simple enough to just use a pair of rabbit ears to get plenty of programs to watch ( local news of course ) for weather and basic headlines but other than that I’m watching Rawhide and Maverick ..lol

What do you think they are going to do with this land? You don't think they will develop this land at some point? Or sell it to some one who will develop it anyway they can. It does not have to be houses. It's also foreign factories and any other way those special interest groups want to make money. It's not about an individuals building a house, it's about building thousands of houses. It's happening now in AZ. And we don't have the water to support that growth, but they don't care. In Az it's illegal to stop a developer from building a tract of hundreds of houses because of lack of water. The LAW states that they can haul water if the ground water dries up. That's the law. Where they are going to haul it from is beyond me. That is insane and that is what is happening. That's pretty short term thinking so they must know some thing we don't. It's treason to speak up and I don't understand why there is no outrage from the people that this will impact the most. It seems like if it was the 60's , people would be burning down these insane housing developments if they knew the impact they are going to have on their future. Maybe that's why the Government legalizes pot. Seems like a scene from a MAD magazine.

I agree 100% about the water and our dumb governor just approved cutting off water to farmers since they waist water. She approved to basically force farmers to sell their land to make way for 277k more affordable housing in the south valley. Also water reports show by January 2027 we will be 500,000 acer feet of water short per year with housing we have now. Hope we get some good rain next 20 years to help the water table. In the meantime my water bill is up about $80 per month compared to 2 years ago and i have 2 kids that left the house.

Grand Teton and Yellowstone are nice to look at but not worth the expense to the majority of taxpayers. The prices I see listed for land around Jackson Hole I say sell it all in 5 acre parcels at auction. As a American taxpayer I'm almost $37 trillion in debt and I don't like it.

The sale of our public lands has just been removed from the big, beautiful bill!! As of right now, the removal of suppressors from the tax and registration requirement is still in the bill. They are saying that nobody in the legislature is going home until the vote is taken. They are saying a vote by Friday.

We've been selling " public land" land for along time its just the media and certain groups want you to believe Parks, Monuments and other land was gonna be sold.
