SEEN the new MOSSBERG MVP LV 308 today

I seen the new mossberg MVP lc 308 rifle today at Iowa city , Iowa Scheels store today. Looks a lot like the new Savage long range rifle. The thing is gun only had a 18 1/2 inch barrel. I don't get it..... I would think these companies would know a short barrel will come up short for the long range shooters. Rifle had bipod. , brown color. $1149.00. Thought it was a little over priced for a short barrel gun. Maybe gun has been in production for a while ? I had never seen one. Martyd

Been around awhile. 3-4 years. Once Savage's patents ran out the copies came out, Remmy, Mossberg etc.

The 204/223 version is reasonably priced, was that with bipod and a decent scope?

Gun was the 308 cal with bipod but no scope. I had never seen the gun before even though it has been out for a few years I guess. To me looks just like the the Ruger precision rifle. Just the Mossberg was tan color and shorter barrel. All metal for-arm it look like to me with big gaps for the floated barrel which I like. Just don't want a 18 1/2 inch barrel gun. Martyd
