Seeking Assistance / Winchester M70 Super Grade 'Fixed' or 'Plunger' Ejector?

Can any provide an answer for the Winchester Super Grade (Baco) 2022 as to whether it has a 'Fixed' or 'Plunger-Type' Ejector? All replies are appreciated.

I believe what you've got there is a CRF bolt setup. No plunger ejector....I guess it could be referred to as "fixed"? I'm no expert though. Have the same bolt on my Mod 70.

Thanks very much for the info. What year is your M70? I found this on a Winchester forum:
"First, they took away the fixed ejector and saddled it with the plunger-type ejector of the competition. Like all rifles with a plunger ejector, it is very possible to get one of these plungers hopelessly stuck into its blind hole in the bolt face. When that happens, expect an unpleasant or horrendous repair bill". Have you ever had any issues to the above?

The only experiences I've had with bolts with plunger ejectors are on a Savage 12 and a T/C Compass, so I can't speak from much experience - not to say I haven't put a fair amount of rounds down the pipe in them. When setup as factory rifles, I have had no issues with either my push-feed bolts or the CRF bolt on my Mod 70. I have run into a small issue with my Savage 12 after swapping barrels and going to a chassis setup with removable mag, but that's a self-induced problem that I need to tinker with.

What are you looking to do?
Having a custom bore guide made. The slot has to be cut in the guide to fit the opening. Eric from Possum Hollow is making me one. I tried Lucas but he did not provide his phone number. In that respect, I have no intention of dealing with him, no matter how good his custom bore guides are. Actually, I have found the answer as you pointed out earlier "Fixed" in which you were correct.
*Concerning fixed ejectors v spring loaded plunger ejectors a fixed ejector is a piece of metal attached to the action. When you pull the bolt back the ejector slides through a slot in the bolt face and hits the back of the cartridge case causing it to kick out of the action. A plunger ejector is a small piece of metal inserted into the bolt face under spring pressure. Once you have chambered a cartridge it is always pushing against the cartridge head. When you extract a cartridge once the bolt is pulled back far enough, the spring powered ejector kicks the cartridge out of the action. Under hard use and not keeping a rifle clean, a plunger ejector can get stuck so that it doesn’t work.

Winchester switched to the plunger ejector and push feed in 1964 as part of their huge cost cutting campaign across the board. The brand changed hands over the years but is now owned by FN. Some years ago they switched back to the fixed ejector like yours is. Sorry I don't know the date of the switch back.

I don't understand why a slot needs to be in the bore guide. I know it is a fixed ejector but it is spring loaded up and down so the bore guide will slide right over it. At least my cheapie bore guide does.
I have been wanting to upgrade my bore guide so I am just curious.

I would not know either. You would have to confer with Eric from Possum Hollow, formerly Sinclair. Eric said a slot has to be cut. In fact, I'll post a pic in a moment of one guide he sent me but did not fit (Circumference was too big). However, I have given him the exact specs of the bolt diameter.
