See Bart In Action - Florida 2019

Local GunWriter article has a video of Bart actually competition during the Florida IBS State Championship. Think it's a video link in the third picture down. There are also other pictures to be seen and a story.

Note that during the video Mark, who finished 2nd, is next to Bart with that yellow/brown Savage. Quite a contrast in shooting techniques.

Notice how Bart stays down on the gun. This is easy for him to do. D

He has "done it before". Seat height, body height, rest and the whole package make it look oh so easy.

It's not. Learn from a master and watch it over and over.
That was a little slow, right at 11 seconds! I fumbled brass at least once! But the target came back as a 1.495!

S L O W... ????????????

To be able to get the rests together, your load and lock procedure down pat, breathing in time, shoulder pressure the same along with trigger release and follow through perfect for each shot takes time. You take NO TIME. 2 seconds a shot is silly F A S T.

Most of us mere mortals would struggle to get all those factors and maybe more, under control each minute. You do it all in two seconds then call it slow.

Crazy. Crazy as a loon. You are darn good too.

Tony Boyer taught me to handle a gun like that. If you go to a short range match you can pick out the ones he’s worked with.

I have video of Gaylon Bryeans (2017 600 SOY) Shooting 5 shots in 7 seconds, and he hesitated on the last shot.

It can be done. Just takes practice.

Would you call your technique, "free recoil"? I see shoulder contact but am curious how much, if any, there really is. The clothing on that particular cold day kind of hides that issue.

Short range I shoot free recoil. However in that video I was lightly pinning the gun.

While we're on the topic of technique, I noticed that on your front rest base appears to be rotated counterclockwise about 20-30* from what I use and have ever seen used. Is there an ergonomic or scientific reason for that rotation or just a personal preference?? WD

Yes, it helps to get the rest as close to the edge of the bench as possible. Pretty a requirement for the Super Shoot.
