Recovering from a fire is devastating enough but the strangers walking up and want to "look around" is even worse. I went through this 2 years ago. As soon as the fire department and investigators left, within 3 hours the fire remediation and adjusters showed up. The buzzards were circulating before the smoke had cleared.
Several people hurriedly left when an armed person showed up and questioned them as to what the hell did they want....and get the hell out of here and don't come back. Thieves will steal the stink off a pile of chit.

Maybe I'm just paranoid and don't trust anyone, but I would never leave a gun safe with guns in a shipping container out where someone can open it up with no one to see or hear it.

Yeah, and Rob Reiner probably never thought his son would come in and murder him and his wife in the middle of the night.

I actually had this happen to a good friend of mine. The difference was the mother survived her gunshot wound and the weapon was an 1100 Remington shotgun.

UPDATE,
We put out a lot of "feelers", having the younger crowd inform others their age that some guys my age pay top dollar for guns. Got a bite with pictures of the stolen firearms. We have a State Trooper who is a friend working on the search warrant right now. Looks like the thief is a known ex convict meth monkey.
