Earlier this year, my daughter and son in law lost their home due to a fire. We acquired two sea containers to store the items that were spared. My son in law fabricated lock shields where only the key hole was exposed ( much like a job box but with 10ga steel). All this was to store possessions on site until a new house could be built.
Last night theives used pry bar to rip the locks out of the doors, actually tore the steel the door is made of. The only things stolen were a Canon gun safe with the rifles he got when his father passed and a small welder. The thiefs passed up all make and manner of power tools and a mechanics tool box.
All serial numbers have been reported but talk about kicking a guy when he's down. It really doesn't matter what you do, if they want it they'll find a way to steal it.
