seb rest ?

I am moving from f/tr to f open and after having experience with a joy pod I know that I will continue to use seb Products and my question is go with the mini or neo? l like The idea of a light weight rest but I am concerned about the stability of it I will be shooting A 284 Winchester any suggestions will be appreciated

Myself as well as several others shoot 284’s off of a mini without any issues. It is plenty stable. I know some may prefer the neo over the mini though for their own reasons though.

I struggled with the same decision. I got to test drive a number of Neos and they are very impressive to say the least. Eventually I decided on the Mini for its convenience and lighter weight. Shooting F-Open it has proven to be extremely stable and has provided a number of cleans. I also shoot a .284.

I am very new to F Class so take this with a grain of salt. I have the Mini with the Blake upgrades, though I shoot off concrete so I have not had the use for the wide feet yet.

I can easily line up the rifle with the target by cinching down the bags on the for-end and unlocking the base so it can rotate. Then I can get behind the rifle and slide the rear bag until the rifle is on target and it is perfectly lined up without having to lift the rest up. I have never used a Seb Neo but it doesn't look like it can rotate so you would need to lift the rest up to get it aligned with the target. I doubt this is any real problem for the Seb Neo people and I am sure the Neo can adjust height a bit faster than fiddling with the Mini's feet if the column doesn't get you where you need to be. The cost with the Blake addons is pretty similar to the Neo, I do have to take off the side bag plates to fit it in the Mini carrying case but I just stick them in the same pouch as the joystick. Hope this helps and like I said, new to F Class and have never used a Seb Neo.

All the Seb products are GREAT, but you have to patience to get one. They're worth the wait. Our first Neo (8 months), Joypod (11 months) to get them. Got on the list for a Mini January of this year and might get one February next year. Seb's products have been AS important and anything else we have purchased.

I run a mini with all of Bryan’s add-ons which I think are amazing and worth the money but your mileage may vary. But fwiw don’t buy a mini and expect to master it the first day. Even stock the Mini will need you to practice setting it up because of various adjustment points compared to the Neo and if you add things like the ankles it only complicates it more. I know some people may think it’s silly but because of all the adjustments (especially if you have the add-ons) you need to spend time knowing how they affect setting up at the line. This isn’t just a put it on the ground and figure out your elevation type of rest. It’s a precision tool and you need to know how to use it. Spend a day at the range picking a point downrange that represents your target and then do a mock set up on the line. Know how you want to level it, how much angle at the feet vs the base you want and how much elevation with the feet screws vs the mariner wheel. Pick various points downrange and pull all your gear back and do it again and see how you can most efficiently get on target without affecting your position or stability. Put your time in ahead of time and Seb’s amazing engineering will pay you back ten fold. There’s nothing more painful than watching someone using a Mini for the first time at a match and not even being close to ready by the end of prep time.

That being said my Mini changed my life and I wouldn’t dream of using anything else now.
