The old seb rests (and the NEO Ratigan) have no internal uplift springs.
The counterweight in the front should hold the weight of the rifle, if it doesn't hold the weight could be too light?

Thanks for the reply, true dedication to your products!

Possible? I purchased it used and have no idea what the weight was for. It has grooves for what appears to be an adjustable counter weight but I did not get that part I guess. Can anyone identify the weight and tell me if I'm missing a piece? ( I added orings to the grooves for looks only)

It looks like the weight is too light. If you add some more weight (say a pound or so) in the front it should work well.

I don’t have that rest anymore so I don’t have the parts but it was over in the nuts and bolts section where you pull your own pieces. They were large very dense bushings if I remember right. I would just head over there and look through those drawers in the Hillman area. I’m sorry I can’t be more help but they were a somewhat shiny stainless looking type of bushing.

The weight I have is closer to 25mm than 1 inch, it measures right at 24.92mm.
 
i know this is an old thread but it appears SEBASTIAN watches. i just bought a used neo that was used for f class i think, it came with large feet not flat bench feet,,but the two items that have me confused is no front stock stop...nothing help i want to use this for short range br with 10.5 and 13.5 rifles. it came with a counter weight, pretty big, but i will likely shoot without it.......
suggestions sources... does mike r stock parts ??

Hello 6bra1K,
Thank you for choosing to use the NEO for your shooting needs!
For BR use you could use the standard counterweight (for LV/HV gun) from Mike Ratigan, or just use the current setup without counterweight. However it would depend on your need or your preference, also with the condition and current setting of the front rest. What I mean is, some people prefer a bit stiff joystick action, some prefer a light action, some prefer to use counterweight some not, and so on. Generally that is all about the (tension) setting, if you set it right the rest will work flawlessly no matter is an older rest etc as long as the components are clean and not damaged.
I believe that both Mike Ratigan and Ernie Bishop have some parts available in stock. We do not make/carry bench feet though, you would need to find it somewhere. probably Sinclair or other source.
