SEB NEO-X BR (benchrest)

Anyone own one and want to comment on it? Have you had the standard NEO-X? Comparison? I have one coming in a couple of months (realistically for next season). Love my X but really loved the ease with which you could adjust the Ratigan Model. Let me know what you have to say about yours please.

FWIW… I spoke extensively with the guys at a recent group match in New Braunfels. The general feeling was that they didn’t at all feel disadvantaged with the standard version. But in the e-mails I traded with Sebastian, he was very positive about the inherent advantages of the counterweight system. So based on his advice, I ordered the counterweight version. The Neo I’ve been using for the past 7-8 years has the counterweight.

Of course, you could order one of each and compare them head to head. Sebastian is hoping to have mine ready late fall, early winter. Just in time for the 80% tariff by Trump.

Well, I guess we could just order the counterweight and remove the springs.
That's what I did with my Mini X. I have a Neo Ratigan with a Lenzi top and prefer the counterweight system. I have owned and used both. I like the Mini's rotating top for the ease of set-up, but my Neo isn't going anywhere.

You can do that (remove the uplift springs and add/change to the counterweight), however internally the Neo-X BR has more selected parts that allows even more smoother joystick action. That is why the BR version is recommended for benchrest shooting.

For ones who do not really-really picky/concerned about the smoothest joystick action, and do not shooting for point blank or long range BR intensively, the standard version is already extra smooth.

Without side by side comparison, most people wouldn't know/notice the difference, or the feel.

I have the fclass version but I wish I had ordered the br version. I didn’t know there was a difference. In your post above you mentioned something about more selective parts. What does this mean actually? Can I purchase those more selected parts with the counter weight? Thanks
Lee

The problem is that the post on the BR version are shorter than the standard F class version that means the post would have to be taken out and pressed back in which I think would be nearly impossible for anyone except said. Also it's reversed as far as the legs go the short one leg is in the rear and the two longer ones are in the front which that too would cause a problem. You also have Springs that are in the F class version that are not in the BR version, also the knob to adjust the vertical is on one side only not both as in the F class so you're going to be much better off to sell your F class when your VR version comes in.
