SEB NEO - different types of front stops - best for BR?

I am thinking of buying a once used NEO, the pictures show a front stop shaped like a goal post, I've also seen a more simple single round post as a stop on NEO's (pictures only for both, never seen one in person).

The round single post seems to be a better idea to me, could the goal post stop induce some movement in the rifle if not perfectly square with the two uprights?

I would be using this for short range BR, likely sell my JJ Loh to pay for it. Or.... I could spend an extra $1200 or so and get a new Lenzi.

I'm new to BR, shot off a Farley last week and like the joystick.

The goal post style front stop you mentioned is the newer style front stop offered. It was made to prevent barrel interference with the front stop on rifles with a low front. I would not be concerned with issues from it, but I’m sure you could trade the new style stop for the old style if you think it’s an issue.

this is the reason for the swivel heads on the newer rests. Mini-X and Neo -X.
That goal post helps to insure you are square. All of the newer rests, the heads swivel.
you will still have to adjust rear bag and maybe maneuver front rest slightly. It serves a purpose imo.

Thanks for the replies, about what I expected I suppose. Being new to it all I can't help but think the NEO is all that I need, I suspect the Lenzi is nicer overall but at this point probably not worth the extra $1200 or so that it would cost me.

If you are shooting short range group, there are some that would argue the JJ you have is a better rest than either the NEO or Lenzi. If you’re shooting score a joystick makes navigating the target faster.

I don’t think you would be holding yourself back by going with the NEO instead of the Lenzi. That said, I don’t think you are holding yourself back with the JJ Loh you have either.

Will be shooting a mix of both score and group - 12 weeks of league is score (4 weeks each at 100, 200 and 300), hopefully a few matches per year that are mainly group shoots.

Thanks for the insight.

I have a Neo and a JJ and to be honest I still like the JJ better. I ve been using the Seb for about a year now and I feel the JJ is just a much better rest for me, yes the Seb is faster but it can also be a little less stable when on target. For short range BR use the JJ LOH and save a bunch of money until you decide what you want to do as far as competition goes.
Almost forgot I shoot score.

P.S. All the proceeds from the JJ stayed in the good old U.S.A. .

I no longer use a front stop. All my stops are mounted to my
stocks. It was on a whim, and I like to get creative, and frankly
it works just fine.....

I have both types.
My 2" stock doesn't work with the U shaped.
But my 3" stock it is great. Since i shoot both at matches i use the round one.

You won’t be disappointed with the Neo!!.
