Seb Neo Carrying Case

What doesn't kill us makes us bitter.

About a week ago someone had a For Sale post for a Seb Neo with a custom carrying case. The ad is gone but there was more interest in the case than the rest. Someone posted a response that the case (the exterior actually) could be found in Army surplus stores and even posted a link to someone selling them on Ebay. I have a new Neo coming so I ordered one of the cases that were originally made for aviator night vision goggles.

The fit is amazing as if Seb designed the rest specifically to fit in that case. Clearance width wise is so close that the rest must be in the down position or the lid won't go on. I put Teflon stock tape in a couple places on the inside of the case to prevent chafing.

Don't recall the members name but it turned out to be one of the most valuable posts I've seen in the twelve or so years I've been hanging around here. Thanks, whoever you are. For around $40 the guys who ride with me can quit complaining about having to sit in the back while the rest sits in the front seat strapped in.

Dave I bought the neo your talking about and the case is made by skb series 1 he added a piece of wood to the bottom of the case so with 1 bolt to hold it down and two clamps to hold the joy stick very nice setup

I saw the post and there was some info where these cases could be obtained. I would like to purchase one for my Neo. Thanks, Mike

Buy a Pelican M2620. Best protection around for a Neo. I went off the road after a match 2 years ago, hit 2 trees and a telephone pole and flipped on the drivers side. totaled my truck with my Neo in the back of the bed. The case got banged around but the 2 Pelican cases that I had for my rifle and rest saved my $7000.00 rifle and scope, and my rest.

When those cases were designed, their original intended use was not for the Seb Neo.

My Scion FR-S wasn't designed to haul groceries either but it sure makes the trip a lot more fun.

Don't do that.

Got confirmation that mine shipped already.
If it isn't made for my Neo then it will hold other crap.

Dave,
Great post. I am keenly interested, could you please post the dimension of your case?

Kindest regards,

Joe

Jim speaks the truth. Here is my Pelican. You can fit your rear bag in too. I also put in a piece of carpet I use to place on top of the concrete tables, but took that stuff out so you could see how I use this set up.

Dimensions: It depends. I would think that folks selling them on Ebay or Army Surplus would say the case is 16L X15W X10H. In reality, including the latches that are on all four side, it measures 16 1/4" X 15" X 10 1/4". The opening of the bottom is 14 5/8" X 13 3/8" (smaller than the Neo footprint) but that's only for the first 1/2 inch where the top sits. Maybe pictures will help:

$25 but no guarantee of protection from wrecked trucks, trees or utility poles.

I've been looking for a set up for NEO and Rear bag. One that I could fly with if needed...although after flying with over 170 lbs of shooting equipment and luggage I don't know if I'll fly to a match again.

I assume you take the rear foot screw off?

Dave,
After your post, I bought one of those cases and it just arrived. Wow what a deal.

I had to take off the F-Class feet, but it fits like a glove. Thanks again,

Joe
