SEB Mini

Hello fellow shooters!
I just got notification that the SEB Mini rest i had on order has arrived and I will take delivery of it in a few days. I was just wondering if any of you folks that already have one have any advice on any "must have" modifications or any other tricks of the trade that will shorten the learning curve....if there even is one. I have been using a Sinclair competition rest up to this point and the primary use is F-Open style shooting.

Make sure everything is tight before you send it down Range. Central pillar levers, leg spike nuts and bag ears (I’ve dropped handfuls of points on that one). The only “must have” accessory would be the wide feet that SEB and others sell. They would be for F-Class, Benchrest is another animal. Practice setting it up, it can take a while to get the hang of it. Be sure your fore end and butt stock are reasonably level on their respective bags, making full contact the length of each. I love my Mini. Good luck.upload_2019-5-17_20-32-5.jpeg

Thanks for the reply! I will heed your advice on all the points you listed.....good stuff....especially the point about the special feet. I will investigate.

One thing I noticed while looking at this pic is that I set up the tripod so that the rear leg and forward leg are on the left at 120° and 210°. The other leg is at 0° (anti-clockwise, 3:00 and 9:00 being 0° and 180° respectively). This is so I can make a final leveling via my scope level with the right 0° leg spike pad. It also allows you to whack the rear leg spike into the turf without upsetting your rifle.

These F-class feet work very well for me: http://forum.accurateshooter.com/th...lass-feet-for-seb-rest.3978088/#post-37487970.

I also was just informed my Mini was in and should receive it next week. Likewise I have been using a Sinclair Competition rest with Shadetree top which worked very well. My primary reason for going with the Mini was to reduce the amount of weight I had to pack around - 32 or so pounds with the Sinclair versus 12 pounds for the Mini. I will be using mine almost exclusively for benchrest shooting - I've heard PMA Tool makes a nice set of feet for benchrest (concrete top) use.

The new 2019 Mini has a new front bag and larger (horizontal & vertical) travel in the joystick.

The top front plate also has two additional thread holes for the forend stop (thread holes on the production units are lower than shown in this prototype front plate bellow).

I am not certain if this "F-Class version" bag would also be legal to use for BR competitions(?), so we make another (BR) version as well... please see photo bellow, on the left hand side.
(I would guess the bottom/horizontal part of the bag should be thicker, however it was still a model/prototype bag in the photo).

If you need a new bag for your Mini (they will be available soon), please contact your dealer. Ernie Bishop (sebrests-usa.com) in the USA. Only mention the "F-Class" or the "BR" bag for Mini rest when ordering.

Best,
seb

If you need F-Class feet I would recommend the Blake's feet, they work for the Mini, NEO and MAX. He also has adjustable ankles for the Mini.

Seb, I tried the new style bag I got from you at the Berger SWN’s in my Neo at the Texas State Championships. Not sure if it is exactly the same as this bag but it worked quite well! Sand did not shift during a string as it does in normal bag & mag rifle maintained level much better under recoil. Keep up the great ideas!

You will love your mini! As others have mentioned, I'd get Blake's feet. I'd add that you might also wish to consider longer screws. I got 2 from Ernie and use one of the original "long" ones as my short rear screw. Several mounds I've needed the extra length. I shoot 99% FTR so weigh that in your decision, but I've loved mine. Seb makes universally awesome products. Drew
