SEB Mini Rest Availability

Been almost 9 months since I got on the waiting list with Ernie Bishop for a SEB Mini. Has anybody gotten their hands on one yet?

I got on the list in feb or march of last year. Ernie said a few weeks ago the end of this month or sometime in feb should be coming in. he said about a year when I got on the list.

I am on the list also, was told a year to wait. No big deal, bought a temporary rest to cover the time.

I shipped 75 Minis to Ernie this month for customers in his list with order date up to June 2017.
You will get the rest soon.
Thank you so much for yours!

@seb do you just fill the back orders, or do you 'prime' the supply line a little? In other words, is that 75 *just* catching up with the back-order list, or are there going to be a few extras available for immediate purchase?

Hi Monte, that's to fill the back orders. I receive customer list from our Dealers and I always try to increase the quantity when we start a batch of rests (say 250, 300, or even 400 units per batch or per model of rest) however at the time we finish the rests the demand always exceeds my supply. On the other side I can't make too many rests because I want to keep my standard of quality, etc. Totally we make over than 1,000 rests a year and must be shipped worldwide.
Each rest is installed, inspected, and tuned by myself, that is also why I don't make many/other products and accessories, due to the workload. Hope this explain "why" the wait time is quite long.
Thank you for asking.
All the best,

In addition, we usually make one model rest at a time and each batch can take about 3-4 months to finish. Sometime it still depends on the material availability, etc.
That is also why we do not ask deposit or so when a customer gets on the list. Payment is only when the rest is about ready to ship.

Seb, let me say thanks for not sacrificing quality for quanity. The rests that you make are a work of art. It was by far the best purchase that I have made in regards to shooting equipment. Thanks again

Just heard from Ernie and my Mini is in. Based on its reputation, the craftsmanship and functionality of the ones I've seen in person - $800 shipped seems like a great value and a real bargain. I placed my order mid-May.

Yep I heard from Ernie two days ago. Price went up $75 or so since I placed my order. But now they come standard with a hard case. So be it. My check is in the mail so hopefully by late next week I receive it. Can’t wait to get to the range with it.

You sure the case is a hard case?

Well I guess I’m not “sure”. The hard case was originally “optional” when you ordered. When I placed my order I didn’t want the case. When I asked Ernie why the price went up he said “due to increased material cost” and “all Minis now ship with the case”.

I’m assuming he was referring to the hard case. If anyone gets clarification feel free to update all of us.

I also ordered the case, but i understood it to be a soft sided case. Kinda like the old cam corders came in. I hope its a hard case. I eas even thinking of getting a pelican type case to put it in.

Honestly I’ll be kind of pissed if it’s a soft sided case. My original $675 purchase is now $800. I would of rather not gotten roped into paying $125 more dollars for a soft case when I could purchase a Pelican knock off at Sams Club for $50...foam included

It is a soft case. The MINI's come with the soft case now, just like the Joy-Pod's. There has been no price increase on the MINI case. There is a 2018 cost increase due to the increased materials cost (especially the alum 7075 billets), labor cost, and the (local) shipping cost.

No worries if you aren't happy with your purchase. You will be able to resell the rest on here within minutes for the $ you have in it.

Good shooting
