SEB Joypod vs Neo vs mini for F Open

What are your thoughts for competing long range with each SEB product. I realize they are all high quality and I'm happy to do business with SEB as EVERYONE has told me how generous he has been to the sport.
This will be on a 7mm F Open rig at 600 & 1000 that is in process...ie I'm in no rush. I like the Joypod for two reasons. One it is lightweight and two I have A LOT of experience driving a rifle from a bipod instead of a stationary rest. I'm not opposed to relearning my fundamentals from a stationary rest if it means the rifle will be more repeatable/track on target. I simply have no experience driving a rifle that way. On the other hand, I imagine there must be some mechanical disadvantage to relying on the Joypod and the rifle acting as "ONE" without play, so to speak. I feel the picatinny rail can be a weak link and the leverage of recoil may not track well through the ski and then along the surface of uneven ground. Looks like this would be accentuated as a heavy rifle is raised higher upon the legs. The Mini appears to be more simplistic than the Neo and more advantageous than the Joypod. Are folks deviating from the Neo simply to avoid bulk or is there more to the story?

If your goal is competition in NRA F Class matches the weight of a bipod that is attached to the rifle is counted toward the 22lb limit in f open, however a front rest that the rifle can be lifted out of like the neo or mini are not counted toward the rifles weight limit. I have used both the mini (gen one not the x) and neo (gen2 not the new one) in f open and saw no difference in score only difference is feel and the mini was easier to set up and travel with. Currently using a rodzilla t Rex and it also has not affected rifle performance or score just has a little different feel on break away. They are all fine products best of luck with F Open.

Who are deviating from the neo? That sounds like fake news. The neo should be your top choice, the mini an emergency backup plan and a joypod a no. The only guys leaving their neo behind are getting a rodzilla or something else, not going backward.

I don't shoot F-Class, but I have owned all of the Seb products except the new one that is trickling out. The one I like best and the only one I have left is the Mini, for the one function the others don't have......The rotating/ lockable head.

First of all thank you Sir for yours! Very much appreciated!

(This is only my personal opinion, it may not be relevant to you and others):
If the weight of the bipod is not included (not counted) and only the weight of the rifle, I would choose to use a Joypod in F-Open for practicality and less/lighter equipment I have to carry from mound to mound.
With a bipod you can also get perfect scores. You can also shoot as good or quick and confident as using a front rest. However in the end or in big matches most people need to take every percent / advantage that can be obtained, including the front rest / bipod.
Mechanically and in reality a solid front rest that you are comfortable & confident with, will give you more X's.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, your opinion is very relevant. Like many others here Erik Cortina has stood behind your product but he was the first to plant the seed as his information is the most widespread. I think what entices me most about your rests, aside from how effective they are; is that you made them. When I'm gone so to will be anything that comes from these hands outside of what once was. That makes it special, aberrant. I appreciate those like you who stake their name to their business.

Your raise an important point regarding weight. This is why the rifle is still in progress and will take much consideration to how it will be used. Thanks again for shedding light.

For F-Class open the NEO, NEO-X or Mini are the first choices. The NEO is being replaced by the NEO-X so you may be able to find a Used one. I like the weight & stability of the NEO’s, many like the mini and say that it’s easier to travel with. I used a borrowed Joy-Pod when I went to Ireland for the Creedmoor match and later for the Emerald match because I didn’t want to pay extra baggage fees. I didn’t feel handicapped using it, in fact I bought my own Joy-Pod when I got home. All are excellent products.

The new Neo X has the rotating head, Waiting on mine now. Plus you can adjust it while in position, no matter what discipline you shoot.
