SEB Generation 3 Rest

One of my favorite people stopped by the house today...the "FEDEX Man"! After I sign for them he handed me two packages. One was heavier than the other. One held my new SEB NEO Generation 3 rest. The other box held a set of F-Class feet and a SEB Bigfoot bag.

In no time I had unpacked both boxes and assembled the rest. Don't be like me read the instruction first. The rest, bag and feet are all works of art. I had a hard time taking photos because of the reflections of the counter top and me showing up on the polished surface of the rest. I don't know what Seb has done to the insides of the rest, but it sure is smooth to operate. I can't wait to fill up the bags and get to the range to test it.

I have used Seb rests since they first came out, starting with the original SEB Coaxial and moved on the Seb Neo. They have always been state of the art items. The Gen 3 is exactly that. Last Friday I sent my Gen 2 rest to a team mate and tried use an old rest of mine, not a SEB. I felt like I was back in the stone age.

Very Very jealous!!!! I just got on the list a month or so ago. The 15 to 18 months cant come fast enough!!! How long did you have to wait for yours? Did you order your feet at the same time you ordered your rest?

7Stubby,
I waited way too long. I asked for the feet at the same time. I am sure Ernie has the feet but I would contact him and added them to your order.

Jacob, double your order right away so I can borrow one !! Mr. Bartholome is our present National Champion and team SEB so he must shoot the best equipment available to him. Yes, I am jealous too!! Lol

Do you have an ETA on it Ernie? I was told it would ship the middle of July.

You got it mike. 2 rests with my name on it. I can "rent" one out to you. 8)

Glad that you like the new rest Larry!

A few mods / improvements on the new rests (gen-3, July 2014 >>>);
1). Tighter internal that makes the top more solid.
2). Changed the brass rods to square HDPE pins that ride on teflon sheet.....this allow even smoother action than ever, also wider range of fine/proper tension adjustment. The new pins will also last for a long-long time.
3). Added two set screws on the top to allow adjustable up-lift force. (probably not needed if your gun weighs no more than 30 lbs +/-).

Mod #1 & 2 are adopted from the JOY-pod.

I can say that the new/gen-3 rests are generally better than ever. It's about 25% smoother than the gen-2! (that means more/much smoother than the other rests). Also easier/faster to disassemble & assemble the internals when needed.
Good thing is, we keep the price the same. It's because we are able to make more rests in the same time frame recently (= more cost effective).

As always, we try our best to make our rests better from time to time! It's a never ending effort to me....
And am considering to make rests as a full time job....to add CNC equipments etc.

seb.

PS:
We have 100 MAX in machining process at this moment, hopefully ready around September-October. (Then we will start with the NEO again).
We will soon start 2nd batch of JOYpod (300 units), hopefully ready before X'mas.

And wait for our new products & innovations!

To bad that it's not allowed to produce custom actions, triggers, etc, in Indonesia.
Just dreaming.... :(
seb.

Seb, set up shop in Texas to produce all the above, we'd be proud to have you. That is a nice looking rest.

I think I'm going to stay in TR, one of these days you open guys are going to need a tow truck to bring your stuff to the line....lol

Medic505,
Thank you for the kind words!
Been thinking to stay in the States for a few months per year.... helping/work together with a very good friend of mine (he is a gunsmith & class III holder in WY) to produce new actions, etc. Also to be able to shoot more competitions, lol!
I know that I could learn much-much faster and have the ability to make new/top notch actions, triggers etc if I live in the USA! (That is just to mention a few products... I could probably make top notch handguns, semi/autos, or other new weaponries - if time etc allows). --- So probably I would realise that "idea" after I can make more/enough rests to reduce the wait time, or preferably our rests can be "in stock". Our rests are more cost effective to produce in Indonesia, btw.
Time will tell though... seb.

Seb,
About what is the current wait time on your NEO rests? I was told 15-18 months but know of some people getting them in as little about 12-13 months.
