Seating die induced runout

Pics or it never happened!
Here 'ya go. The sharp eyed will also notice the 'o' ring between the lock ring and the press.

What was your method for choosing components for your reloads and what was your load workup procedure, also how are bullets seated in relation to touching the rifling? Are you limited by magazine length? If the stock has pillar bedding, what is the torque on your action screws? Added a little later: What bullet, powder and primer did you use for your reloads. How many combinations of seating depth and charge weight did you try?

What I found when seating bullets is I seat the bullet approx 1/2 way down, rotate the case 180 degrees and finish seating. In my testing, it cut the runout in half. Rotating the case allows the bullet to center better is my belief.

quit doing or thinking bout runout yrs ago, good bullets good barrel and it usually takes care of itself, just rotating the case when seating helps I guess been doing that for 7 yrs, and more concentration on CH and trigger pull or touch, making sure I give myself a chance to shoot a good group, not thinking about chicken

When you say you checked the runout of sized cases, did you measure the outside or inside the neck of the case? You'd also have to check at the neck near the shoulder junction and at the end of case to determine the difference or actual runout of the case.

Just my 2 cents.
