Hey, what is the best way to find the correct length?I am shooting a savage 6br,sierra 107's 20 thousandths off the lands,cci 450 primers,29.6 grns reloder 15 @ 2850 fps. Can I just ease the bullets out maybe 5 thousandths at a time and see what happens? anyone have a good system for testing length? Any help would be appreciated.By the way, since you guys talked me into buying a 6br I have a hard time getting excited about anything else. Thanks Shane

Start seated into the lands, get a good measurement on your OAL using a bullet comparator tool. If you dont have this tool then measure several loaded shells and average them. Load 5 at this setting then load 5 of each backing off 5 thousands at a time until you are 25 thousands off the lands. Go shoot these and compare groups. find the best setting and then back off or seat deeper a thousands or two until you have the best load. Loads of fun and you will probably see a lot of difference between the groups. I personally load just about everything into the lands and work my loads up starting with a medium powder charge shooting 5 at a time bringing my loads up .5 grains at a time until I start nearing max loads. I then go up .2 grains until I start getting a sticky bolt and flat primers. I back the load off about .2 and call that max. I use the load the gun shot the best groups. Then I start testing my seating depth, only if I'm not happy with my accuracy.
