I use an arbor-press standard Wilson seater dies for my 6ppc, 6 and 22 BR rounds, but for my 223 Remington rounds I use a Redding seater die. Not the Redding competition one, just their generic one.
Have anyone developed a technique to control the seating depth with screw in dies? With the Wilson's screw-driver adjusted depth I have gotten to be pretty good at getting my adjustments down to the .005,usually!) setting, but with the comparatively crude Redding adjustment bolt I am having a tough time. I did scribe a line on the top of the Redding 'bolt' to help me guesstimate my adjustments, but it's still a lot cruder than the Wilson's set up.
Any suggestions? I realize I might just need practice, or maybe just buy a Wilson seater in 223 Remington.
Thanks!
