Seating blank?

Which would you all suggest a wilsons micrometer seating blank or a threaded newlon micrometer blank from bullet central?

Or get a custom seating die from Whidden?

Thanks

If you're shooting BR comp. I would go with the Wilson, chambered with your or smiths reamer. For just about anything else, any of the choices would be fine, just depends what you want to spend.

This would be for a 30br. im assuming i would order a 30cal #1 blank if i went with a newlon? If i go this route i wont need a arbour press.

Is there a reason you like it better than the other options?
I've done several of the wilson micrometer tops. The problem with them is they rough the ID with a step drill. Don't understand the reasoning. So if you aren't careful, the reamer will not clean up the step. Dasher and IMP, make sure you make the die short enough to clean up. If you call wilson, you can tell them not to step drill. Buy one elsewhere it will be step drilled. Unless they changed their ways.

Do they do the same with the standard top?

Have you done any Newlon blanks?

Yes. The neck portion of a blank done with your reamer will fit better. Also, the threads on a standard Wilson seating stem are 40 tpi. Loosen the screw, look down at the top of the seating stem and turn it 90 degrees....bingo.....you've just changed it .010. ;) -Al
