Seafoam as a bore cleaner

Wondering if anyone has tried Seafoam as a bore cleaner carbon cleaner? It looks as though it does the same job as GM T.E.C. only easier to get at an auto parts store.

Thanks, Longone

I didn't have very good results with Sea Foam.

If you want an outstanding carbon cleaner, get Slip 2000. It is the best I have ever used. Put that on the bolt and/or carrier of your AR, let it set for 10 min or so and just wipe the carbon off. It is that easy.

If you think you have the carbon out of your bbl, put the Slip 2000 in, brush, let it set for 20 min and patch out. You will be surprised at what comes out.

Give it a try.

Bob

I saw your post for SeaFoam and it made me think of something you might want to try. I had to rebuild my Evinrude outboard last summer and I used Evinrude/Johnson carbon cleaner,I can't remember the exact name) to clean the pistons and internals. The stuff was amazing, it literally dissolved the carbon as I watched, even off the face of the pistons. Worth a shot maybe.

I get the same results with NAPA carburetor cleaner. I use it on my Browning Gold shotgun and my AK and FAL pistons. Works like a champ.
