Sea foam for bor cleaning

I just used Seafoam spray this morning cleaning an AR bolt carrier. It is petroleum based so should not be harmful. Have used it for years on small engines etc. Great stuff.

Seafoam is mostly Naptha, I believe. It might take some carbon off, but if you need a faster carbon remover, you can get some Acetone from the hardware store and use that.

Seafoams "top engine cleaner" is an outstanding cleaner and will provide good protection. "Deep Creep" is an outstanding cleaner and preservative. These two products are intended for gun care.

I have used all of them, but I LOVE sea foam products for gun cleaning. 10/10.

I’ve used Seafoam and Lucas top engine cleaner or gasoline additive. The Lucas works well as a carbon cleaner. The Seafoam is tougher to push though the bore. Same size patch and same technique. I put the Seafoam in my gasoline tank and moved back to the Lucas for bore cleaning.
