SD or Group Size

I know the answer (or should), but I want to know what y'all think.

Developing a .280 AI load for 1000yrd Fclass. Time is short before regionals next weekend...

Trying seating depths for different SD/Groups, all five shot groups (I do have a tuner, all at the same tuner setting).

1"+ group: SD of 5

2 different <.5" groups: SD of 15

Le sigh...

I feel that the tuner should be used at all loads.
I get the best and then tune the load with the tuner .
Tuners change the point of impact both vertically and horizontally . Why would you not change the tuner when your working up a load. Larry

Maybe the same reason I do, he wants the best accuracy the barrel has to offer, which means developing the very best load possible, then tuning the tuner for more . Unlike you who settles for a load and only gets the best it has to offer, by tuning it with the tuner. Which can leave a lot left on the plate... IME
