100 yards. He was bedded in a fence line full of tumbleweeds, I guess he thought he was hid. Waited over an hour for him to stand up but he never did so I hit him in the neck.

I wasn't sure I wanted to shoot him. He looked young so I wanted him to stand so I could get a good look at him. I didn't want to spook him up because if I didn't want to shoot him I wanted to put my son on him tomorrow.

I've got another one scouted for my son. He's got 2 rifle tags, one of my other son's and I both have archery tags left also. They both will get home tonight and we'll be hunting the next 2 days.

I agree! The tall tines and the stickers at the base along with how tasty he was overpowered the remorse of him being a young deer.
