scratches on inside

I just noticed some scratches on the inside on my Redding FL die. Question: can they be removed and is it hard to do?

Do this if the die is scratching the cases.

Use a dremel, 4 inch long rod that fit into the dremel , wrap 1000 grit sand paper in direction of dremel turn around the rod till it fit some what snug into the die, and add your favorite lubricate to the die and polish the scratches out.

You only want to take the high spots off the scratches, not increase the diameter of the die.

Take your time!

I recently had a neck come off in a Redding sizing die & was unable to get the decapping pin out due to the expander ball being too tight to remove by pulling it up tight on the broken neck piece. The neck was rough & scarring the brass anyway, so I shipped the die to Redding on a Friday & had it back by Wed. Polished up like new. No charge. Cant beat that.

Doing this by hand will get rid of any brass deposits on dies or neck bushings, as well.

I think you probably mean to wrap the sandpaper around the rod in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION of the dremmel rod will turn, agree?

My dremel turns to the right, I take a strip of 1000 grit and tape it to the rod end , then by hand turn to the rod to the right until the strip will fit into the case neck. Insert into case mouth and then turn the dremel on and polish. So no, I don't agree.
