Scott's Xring Blues

Awesome as always Brett. For not, they look wet to the touch! for those of you that have never seen one of his works of art in person, the photos never do the stock justice. They look wet to the touch.

Must be a Musician here somewhere.

Cheerz Brett found a supplier down here now time to have a good look at this stuff.
Colors I originally purchased 3 years ago were
Red, blue, yellow, green, black, medium brown, vintage amber.
These colors can be blended to make your own custom colors, 1 of my favorites is brown/red to make copper.
I use 4oz jelly jars to mix dyes, I use bottled water to dilute them, and a wooden paint stick to check strength.
Clean stock with compressed air and naphtha after sanding each layer.
If applying multiple coats of the same color I like to gradually reduce strength with subsequent coats.
My last coat is generally a wash coat that dosen't get sanded.
Depending on temps give it a couple few hours to dry before sanding, overnight to 24hours before applying finishes.
If you sand through finish in process just touch up by applying last color and typing with heal of your hands.
Have fun, dyeing wood stocks are my absolute favorite!!

Best you do a step by step on using this dye I reckon . Painting is good for the soul but it plays with the brain a bit
I'll try to make that happen, no promises tho. I get super busy and get to going on projects I sometimes forget.
Feel free to PM me and I'll answer any questions you have.

Here's a guitar my brother in law sent me pictures of for reference. Color is a dark rootbeer start with a strong black and brown mix 70/30
Followed with a 50/50 mix then copper, and vintage amber.
10-12 coats sanding between each coat. FullSizeR.jpg
