Scott parker, single kernel scales.

Seems to me that someone else should take up the art of beam scale repair and upgrades to provide real service to customers. There must be another perfectionist willing to grasp this opportunity.

I understand that the FX120 is nice, and I will have one eventually. But, My benchrest game is doing well without one right now. As for another scale, I did just pick up an old M5, and despite its condition. It works very well. Not bad for a 50 dollar Facebook marketplace find. As soon as I get my 10-10 back,
Scott will be getting my M5

I tune my own to the extent of my capabilities, I can’t speak for another man but I will say that it is tedious and time consuming sometimes I go back again and again over one area until I’m totally satisfied. I cannot imagine doing it while getting trashed on the Internet. Man that’s gotta be tough............

I had him do a 10-10 for me a few years ago and I really like it. The wait time was substantial but I knew that going in. Gary Gore

You may be being sarcastic but you should do just that. At one point he wouldn't even work on made in china or mexico ones. Most of the guys on here have accsess to others to use. I talked to him on the phone then sent it then didn't bother him. I don't even know how long the wait was, it just showed up one day. Sorry but I don't get all the complaining. Gary

A friend of mine in USMC is from Craigsville W Va. Went home with him on a weekend once, his family put on a big cookout in a park. He and I fished a shallow river (never caught any) then came out where they were in some kind of park. He worked in the mines after we got out in 1978. His dad's name was Lloyd. Don't remember his mom's or brother's. His dad was retired with blacklung when I met them. Gary

I did that, except I have the incase tuned M5 sitting and waiting but I hope my GD503 stays working and cover for the M5 never comes off..... jim

Jim,
Like you I have the same setup!.... I bought my 503 in 13 or 14 used it one season maybe part of two then hung up competing for a few years. Got everything out in February of this year the 503 works perfect still but kinda worried about it going south ,... long sit! I have a Parker tuned 1010 but I talked to him in February and told him I had a opportunity to buy a M5 and asked his thoughts on it,.... he said it’s probably his favorite Good Scale to tune!... he said he’s actually running a Redding right now but it won’t settle as fast as the M5s will I asked him if he would be willing to tune it for me and he said he would.i have not sent it off yet but I will and am confident he will get it done when time allows! For you people complaining on turn around time Scott also has scales for sale maybe you should just call him and have him send you one already Tuned..... just a thought

Yes, I had a 1010 done and sold it, got this one and kept it .... I feel I have the best of both worlds. It is kind of down hill from the GD 503 to a balance beam but if it holds out a little longer it won't matter any more..... jim

just for the record to sit things straight, im not in anyway bashing Scott. understand that it takes time and not his main priority, as he has a life and career as well. I was just wanting to know if anyone had been in contact with him. everything bit of research on him, comes up the same. hes a great guy and makes good on his word, his scales are second to none, and his communication is poor. in retrospect, you cant have it all. I would rather have a quality product and no communication, than lots of communication, and a shit product. I just picked up an M5 yesterday that works great, and will serve me until the 10-10 returns. when it does return, ill use the same box to send my M5 right to him and have it done as well. none the less, thanks for all the replies fellas!

I have a 10-10 that I used for years, and could use a little TLC, I was going to send mine to Mr. Parker, but after reading the myriads of less then positive reviews, I opted out.
I have been in business and the personal attention that you provide to your customers can make or break your business. Give good service and your customers will tell a few of their positive experience, give lousy service and they’ll tell 20 people that their service sucked.
Evidently Mr. Parker doesn’t care and shooters keep sending them their scales to work on.
It was said long ago, “Caveat Emptor”, which is Latin for, “Let the Buyer Beware”. Simply, it falls on the buyer to verify the quality and conditions of a purchase, and no one else.
