Scope Ring Height

I have a 30 mm Sightron 8-32x56 scope ordered and I need to know which rings to get. I want the rings to be the Burris Signature Zee rings and need to know should they be the high or the extra high.
The barrel is a varmint weight Criterion and the stock is a B&C tactical medalist. Your help would be appreciated.

Might have to do a little arithmetic but this should help.

I have a set of extra high 30mm signature zee's in my hands and the dimension "c" measures 0.580 with the dial indicator (0 insert installed).
It may depend upon the height of the pic rail in relation to your action and barrel. I am installing a Sightron 10-50x60 on a Panda class f with 20' slope on rail and I needed the extra high.

Hope this helps.

Going off another of your posts, I am assuming this is going on a Savage. Your rail or mounts will determine a lot. I use the EGW rails on my Savages and it sticks out past the action far enough that it sometimes influences how far back your scope can be mounted with shorter rings. I would go with the extra high to be sure. They really need to have a height in between the extra high and the high.

I have about the same question. I am building a new Dasher on a BAT model B with a HV Brux barrel. I have a BAT 20 MOA base and will mount a Sightron 10x50x60 in Signature Zee rings. Extra high also?

Thanks Jack

I guess I left out some of the information needed. The rifle is a Remington that I put a Criterion barrel on with a Savage type barrel nut. The bases I have on it now is Burris 2 piece tactical. That way I can use the offset inserts in the rings instead of the 20 min rail. From what I am reading, it would be better to be a little too high. Keeps you from ordering a second set of rings.

Yes, when you go too tall at least you can shoot the thing while waiting on shorter rings to arrive. I have been measuring current rifle, rail, ring, and scope set ups trying to figure out what I am going to need on a rifle I don't have yet. Best I can figure the highs would be really close and probably too short so I have a set of extra highs on the way. The good news is that after months of not being able to find the Burris Signature Zee rings, they seem to be slowly trickling back into stock here and there.

Jack,
The extra high mount will allow only about 0.050 between the scope objective end and the barrel, a Lilja hv taper. That means I can barely use the Sightron provided objective lens cover of 0.040 inch thickness. I bought the Burris mount so I could remove some of the 20' slope of the action if I need additional clearance. The mounts came 4 days ago and were on order from Sinclair since mid Dec.

Kmart,
I'm running a 56mm obj. Nightforce on a 700 with a weaver 1 pc. base & the HIGH Burris Signature Zee rings over a Rem. factory varmint contour bbl. with plenty of room. Not a Sightron but probably very similar in size. Hope this helps.

Thanks eveybody. I tried to find some yesterday afternoon. Not an easy task. I went ahead and ordered the extra high. If they are wrong, then that will be just another lesson in life. Surely I will learn everything one of these days.

Where are people finding Burris Zee rings?

I have looked recently and no one had any in stock. I would like to have a set for a rifle I have to use with a scope with less than optimal internal adjustments.

Thanks in advance.

I ordered mine from here

The lady I spoke with said they come from their warehouse and show to be in stock.
The High and Medium rings show to be out of stock
