Scope recommendations for NRA AR Tactical build.

-Budget? If on the lower end, you might check out either the 1-6 or 1-8 ACSS scopes from primary arms.
I have been using a 4-14 PA R-Grid 2b on a 223 AR out to 600 yds, on a 6x45 AR out to 1000 yards and currently on a .243 Win AR10 out to 1000 yards (All in AR-Tactical). The 14x magnification seems to be plenty on the NRA targets used in AR-Tactical.

My son (Dylan) prefers the SWFA 10x on his .223 and competes with it out to 1000 yards. He currently holds the CMP Long Range AR-Tactical National Record with a 194-2x shot at Camp Perry last year.

Recently put an Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 (30mm) on my AR10. Super happy with the scope for that application. I’m also a huge fan of the Athlon reticles, though. I’d recommend it over most things in its price range.

I also have had 2 Arken SH4s, which are very disappointing in my opinion. Would not recommend if you have the budget for something better.

Another Whiteoak shooter here (Bartlein barrel, 22" x 7" twist, target crown).
I just purchased (not delivered until next week) Leupold VX-6HD GEN2 3-18x44 30mm CDS-SZL2 SF ILLUM 184423. I have both a 50mm Vortex HD and a 56mm Nightforce but decided to try the Leupold as it has an electronic 'cant alert', which should be useful (at least for me). Will have this fall/winter to figure it out before competition starts in the spring of '26.
