Very nice job Al! That's a serious looking rifle. We need a few details. All done. Holes are lightly chamfered and all edges sanded a skosh. Comes up to 'tight' instantly.

Paul, it's an interesting gun. I was given the Hart LV barrel twisted 1:14 that was originally chambered in 223-38 by Ferris Pindell for a 700 action. I'd wanted to try one of the Mack Bros. single shot EVO actions so Randy Robinett and I conspired on a plan to resurrect the barrel and Randy chambered it with a no-turn 22 Creedmoor reamer. For brass, I used Lapua 22-250. Randy and I call it the '22 Anti-Creedmoor'.Very nice job Al! That's a serious looking rifle. We need a few details.

Short 223?
It was a full length 223 with a 38 degree shoulder angle. -Al38mm = 1.500" +/-
Tweener 221FB and 222.....maybe preceded FB?
Makes me wonder why the odd 38° and not full 40°?It was a full length 223 with a 38 degree shoulder angle. -Al

Well the one I referred to my post #1 above ended up being a glue and screw.
I have always used Brownell's spray release agent..but this time I decided to use what I thought was Johnson's Wax. Wrong..it is Minwax Finishing Wax, that I use for final finish on cabinets, and it ain't no release agent, despite three coats. The rail is locked tight.
But that's fine anyway cause I had planned on glueing this one anyway in a second step.
Still added the pins though. The .125 pins are locked solid to both action and rail @ .1247 in this setup.

Looks like I used .625 on the rear and .500 on front. It'll depend on the thickness of your rail and receiver. Cut them to desired length in lathe. What length are the pins?
