SCOPE QUESTION

My local club has a 100 yd indoor ( old chicken house) bench match--I am not interested in anything but the factory class--has to be pure out of the box factory--so the target used has little bigger than dime size bull and dot for the x
What would be a decent scope to use in this deal--magnification, model etc? I would be looking for something older used just for this one class
The range is dark with lights out and only targets are lighted It seems odd at first for sure
I will be using a Savage 12 LRPV in 6br
Ideas welcome---was hoping some older out of date classics might work and be available reasonable $$$
THANKS!

Bausch & Lomb Balvar 12-32x40.......I have 2 of these and would let one go if that would interest you.....FCH.....Japan optic. Sitting in a set of Burris Sig. rings.......Shoot me a PM.......This is a " classic " quality target scope.

The above mentioned Sightron 36 is a good choice and a bit less expensive than mine......

Regards
Rick

I have a Weaver 36x on a Savage 12 7T, at 100 yds it's a good scope, never shot indoors under those conditions but I've used this scope in RFBR outdoors at night in 50yd ABRA/ARA matches, with just LED work lights set up in the middle (around 25 yds) to illuminate the target boards. No real issues on those targets for me at 68 y/o and crappy eyesight. If the center is dark or black, you could loose the CH's, so something to consider.

Athlon has several different scopes, a 10-40x with illuminated recticles, so that could/might be an option for you.

I like the Steiner T5xi 5-25x56. They are assembled in the US with German glass. I own two of these and I use them for F-Class competition (one milRad, one MOA). The T5 series has been replaced with the T6 series. If you look hard you might find one of the T5 scopes still in the channel for just over 1K. These are light years ahead of anything made in China.

For the range conditions your speaking of, I would suggest an IOR Valdada 36x-42 benchrest scope with Schott Glasswerks glass but 1st, finding a used one might be more difficult than the others recommended here but mostly the price. Might be more than what your looking for. But would certainly be beneficial considering the range conditions. Good luck with your search.

Boys I wanted to give a big Shout Out to member Spoonbill
He saw this and offered me a sweet 36x Bausch Lomb for a Screaming deal--He said he wanted it to have a good home--WOW What a guy!
