Scope mounts for right hand shooter, bad right eye,bad left shoulder

I'm looking for a scope mount to offset my scope to view my left eye shooting from my right shoulder. I'm right handed but at age 11 I lost my right eye so I started shooting left handed. Now my problem just got tougher, I need surgery on my left shoulder and won't be able to shoot left handed any more. I have to learn to shoot right handed again while using my left eye. Does anyone know where to get the offset base or bases to this with. Thanks, Jeff

BKL Tech makes offset rings.

There was a fellow shooting at the small bore nationals last summer at Elkhart In. with a set to do what you need to do. He made it from a piece of aluminum that was aprox. 3" wide and 3/16" thick.

It attached to the receiver like a scope rail would and he had it set up so he could mount wither his receiver sight to it or a scope for any sight matches. He had made a simple bracket to offset the front sight an equal amount.

In conversation with him he stated that he almost quite shooting a number of years ago due to vision problems. He went to what he thought would be his last match and saw a rifle set up this way and went home and duplicated the set up. It was not elaborate or eloquent but it worked and he shot well.

Somewhere I have some images of the set up if I can find the right SD card. IF they are located I will post them.

Bad right eye?
Bad LEFT shoulder?

Maybe a Crossover stock?

If you are shifting riflescope from center of bore, you create problems due to impact bullet shifts at distances different from what you zeroed at.

Crossover stock would use Right shoulder but align action for more natural use of left eye, and keep scope mount system in alignment with bore.

A couple of friends have gone this route. They've attached a suitably robust strip of alloy to the action that allowed them to fit scope bases & mounts at the correct distance & elevation for the left eye. Both realised that once they cheeked the stock, their off eye was higher than the master eye.

One of them who shoots off his elbows has fitted a counterweight fitted to the right of the action to "balance" the scope's weight.

This item http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JNI6QNA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 allows a 45 degree mounting for any accessory that mounts to a pic rail. Cobbling it together with another and/or a riser could allow for something to allow the left eye to be used for aiming.

I shoot with my left eye off my right shoulder. I cant my head across the butt of the rifle by removing the cheek-piece and using a rolled up towel in it's place that gives me the perfect height with standard rings. It is very comfortable. I always tell people it's like shooting while laying head on a pillow.

One day, I plan to make a little more elegant cheek-piece made from memory foam. But, I've been planning that for 8 years now since I've used this method. ::) ::)

On a tight shooting line in competition, you have to set up far right on your point. This is because you'll be laying at closer to a 45 degree angle (feet left of head) rather than straight behind the rifle.

Also, earplugs are a must as headsets get in the way of head position.

if you have a removable cheek-piece, give it a try.
