I have a question regarding "scope height" or "sight height" in PointBlank and JBM's Ballistics Programs respectively. What is it? How is it measured? What is its significance in ballistic calculations?
I know it is measured in inches and can assume that it takes into account different size objective lenses, main tubes, and ring height. My intuition tells me it is the height of the center of the scope above the center of the bore. Is this right? If so, how does one make a precise measurement of it? And, how critical is this measurement to accurate ballistics calculations?
Second part to my question is that I have a 10MOA forward base. How is this taken into account in the calculations?
Could someone please shed some light on this subject.
Thanks in advance.
