Scope for wheelgun choice.

I have been running scopes since the late 80’s, been using red dots since the 90’s.
On my hunting guns I run 2x & 4x Leupold’s. I have had shots out to 135 yards with my revolvers. 2x works great and gives a finer aiming point that a red dot.
Bullseye gun and action shooting guns I run red or green dots. Too many to list, but they have come a loooong way since the long tubes from way back when.
On my target pistols for long range, I run Burris 3-12 and 2-8 leupolds.

I put a 2005 2.5x LER scout scope on my 686 n seems to work well, bright with the thinner stadia in the duplex center.
I also have a 2x on a 617 and it has no mag, and if anything negative mag. But the sight picture is very bright. Why they claim 2x is bs.

I have found on the straight wall stuff that a 2x or 4x is all that is needed. Yes, the problem now is finding a quality one that has not been discontinued. I shoot a lot of xp's and contenders, but in the wheel gun realm the red dot may be the way to go. At this point it's worth a try. I like them.
