Scope for Tikka 223

Like the title says I’m looking for a scope for my new tikka 223. something in the 3-15 or 4-20 magnification range. Around $1000 is my budget. Reliable tracking, durable scope. And I really need something with enough elevation to reach out to 800 yards. And Mils not MOA.

I have a tikka 223 varmint, it wears a SWFA SS3-9 and I like the setup. If it is strictly a range gun, the SS3-15 is also a good option, but I don’t like the turrets as much - if you plan to spin them, and the glass is not as good.

Another option is Sightron 6-24, but that is way more magnification than I prefer for any range a 223 can handle well.

Lastly, if it came with rings, toss them in the trash, their rings are worse than terrible.

I put an Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50 on my Tikka 3x lite 223. First got an EGW 20 MOA scope rail, then clamped the Midas TAC on with TPS TSR low rings. Mine is a mil model, ffp, 10 mils per revolution, zero stop, capped windage knob, good glass, tracks very well. MAP is $630, which leaves you plenty to buy good rings. It's not illuminated, but Athlon spent the money that illumination would've cost on better quality glass. I like these scopes enough so that I've got three more of them on Howa Mini rifles with custom bbls in 22 & 6.5 Grendel, and a CZ457 American w/Shilen ratchet rifled select match bbl.
ETA - Forgot to mention that minimum parallax focus is 10yds, which also makes them ideal for use on 22RF rifles.

You are selling the .223 Remington short. First off a 9x scope on a .223 is not a "Range" scope by any means, unless you are limited to 50 yards maybe. And then you state 24x is too much power fore anything a .223 can handle well . Do you seriously think a 24x scope is too powerful at 300-600 yards ?

I use a 32x for my Tikka in factory class @ 200 yards , and could surely use a more powerful scope .

Meopta Optika6. They have 3-18 and 4.5-27 & lots of reticle options. Glass is very good and they track. under $800

This right here sounds very appealing.
