Scope for f class

I am building a 6 dasher for 600 yd and 1000 yd F class type shooting. I've got a nightforce 8 to 32 NXS MOAR-T in the safe ready to mount.

A search of the forum didn't have much more current than 2017 for a scope recommendation.

My main question is do guys in F class shooting use the Christmas tree style reticle or just the hashmarks on the reticle and do they hold off or do they dial for windage specifically?

I believe most will dial for elevation and hold off for windage. Often, the scoring rings are visible and can be used as a reference for the hold. I would be happy using the MOAR-T reticle.

There is no need for a christmas tree type reticle...the MOAR-T is an excellent choice.
You will find that most competitive f class shooters hold off on the target rings. The hash marks can be useful if you need to hold outside of the black.
Good luck!

I use that exact scope on my f-class rig. It has never let me down. Twice when a cloud came over and the mirage stopped i was able to see pasters on the 1000 yard target.

One more thing about my set up. Mine has 1/8 moa clicks so as a result it only has 40 moa of elevation. It also doesn’t has a zero stop. So i put mine in Burris signature XTR rings and used the inserts to zero the windage and added enough extra offset in elevation so i am less than one rev of bottoming out at 100. That gives me 30+ moa of elevation.

just a thought for you regardless of what scope you use. Strategy is still the same

I'd run that scope if I had one. May have to get one for back up.

I been using a MOAR-T for 224 Valkyrie out to 700 yd, using "hold over" for elevation and then trying to use the elevation crosshair hashes for also holding for wind.

So dialing for elevation I could use the horizontal reticle line, and its hashmarks for wind..

Makes sense. Thx.
