Scope for a rimfire

So bought a scope today. Stumbled on a Leupold VX2 6-18X40 AO with target turrets. They have a 1" tube but 67moa elevation and weigh 14oz.

It's ticks a lot of boxes for the price point. Glass might not be amazing but 90% of the time it will be used in full daylight and I'm also not trying to shoot benchrest level of accuracy.

Yea that’s really a perfect scope for that Rifle. You kind of forget about them because they can be really hard to find especially when you want one.
Yeah saw one for sale and through I had better look into the specs. I was expecting they would have the same elevation limitations as the 6.5-20 so was happy to see 67moa.

Also stumbled on a Leupold VX3 4.5-14x50 "LRT" which has a 30mm tube and capped target turrets and like 100moa elevation. Apparently the long range target was the predecessor to the mk4s and was developed for sniper / swat programs. I passed on that because for what I'm doing the 14.5x max is pretty marginal and it had a mil dot reticle that I'm not a huge fan of.

I've bought several used VX-II Leupold 6-18x40 scopes online (mostly from eBay) for some classic 22RF sporters - Savage-Anschutz 54, Anschutz 1712, Browning repro 52C sporter, Cooper Custom Classic, Kimber Super America, Sako 78. Like these scopes quite a bit, only wish I'd have bought more of them when they were still in production.

I've used Athlon Ares BTR Gen 2 & Midas TAC scopes - 30mm tube, mil/mil knobs & reticles, all FFP - on CZ 457 American & VPT, and on a Vudoo repeater that I built as a light sporter. All my heavy comp Vudoo repeaters have Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 on them, but these are big 34mm tube scopes, and I wouldn't think of using one on a lighter rifle such as yours. But for the money, the Athlons have been very reliable, and their reticles allow for accurate hold-over if you get out past where internal elevation is adequate.
