Scope for a 300 WM

Ok, so I had a cabelas 4-16x52 on it and had zero problems. But the cheapo Barska on my 308 died so the 4-16 moved to the 308 and I got a Viper HS 6-24x50 for the 300. Glass is GREAT, but the eye relief is killing me. Even on half power I'm still grazing my head trying to use the full width of the relief. So, I listed it for sale and I'm trying to find a new scope. Sure I know the cabelas did me well, but I'd like to go with a little higher quality but not go much beyond say...7-800 bucks. My BIGGEST concern is the distance I can keep my head from the scope :o can any 300 WM shooters give me some advice? There's no brake either and won't be adding one.

prospect based off a review of it being on a 300 rum but doesn't say if it has a brake on it.

I use a Nikon Buckmaster on my mag for hunting. It has been fine for shots to 400yd, and is quite clear. Natchez carries factory refurbished models which look new at nice discounts, other brands too.

Leupold, Guaranteed for life. It will never need to be replaced. I have several heavily used for over 40 years ;D
