Need input on the best $400 to $500 scope for long range tactical shooting

Title says it all. I'm looking for your input on the best scope for tactical shooting in the $400 to $500 dollar range. Most important to me is tracking, clarity, and eye relief. I respect the input of every one here, and want to make an informed choice. I will be shooting out to around 800 yards or so a currently have a 20 moa egw base installed on my rifle. The rifle is chambered in .308 win.

Clarity for that price will be less then perfect. Tracking will be good and eye relief will be good also. I like the Falcon scope and it is Mil/Mil. I shoot a 5-20x50 Super Sniper HD Illuminated, they run 1500.00 new.

Maybe a little over your price range, but this is the way I would go. 30MM tube, lifetime warranty, great glass and it the better older VARI-X III model with target knobs.

titus123, how much magnifacation are you looking for? The Falcon Menace 5-25x50 and the 5-25x56 are about 470.00 at SWFA. The Viper PST's run 600.00 and up. There are alot more out there new and used.

You might check out "millet" they have one with a 35mm main tube and a whole lot of adjustment range,I've owned 2 and for the price its pretty good glass.retail about $450 for the LR model with 35mm tube.I will b buying one in a few weeks for a savage/338edge build.
