Scope for 600 yards

I am looking for a new scope for shooting a local 600 yard league and looking for advice.
I am thinking on the following models;
Nightforce 12-42x56 Benchrest
Leupold Compitition 45x
Sightron 8-32x56 ,not thrilled about the target dot)
Sightron 36x

I have searched on here and read that you can sometimes see 6mm bullet holes at 600 yards with the Nightforce, but can you with any of the others I listed?

How good are the Leupold Competition 45x scopes? I see I can save about $500 over the Nightforce but don’t know if I want a fixed power scope.

I want to just buy the Nightforce but it is a lot of money and I want to make sure I make the right choice.

I used a Sightron S3 6-24x50mm last year but am looking for more power!

Any feedback would be great.

I've got a Sightron 36x for F-Class. I can't see bullet holes in the black, that's for sure! But I don't need to be able too,'cause it's F-Class, with spotters.

I do like the 1/8 MOA dot and fine hairs. Makes holding very precise.

I have the NF and Leupold scopes you mention, and if your vision is good and WHEN CONDITIONS ARE PERFECT, i.e., no mirage, no sun glare, minimal cross wind, they will define most bullet holes in the white at 600 yards. In any one of those conditions, bullet holes may be indistinct.

I prefer the 12-42 because when mirage is running hard, the power can be turned down which helps some.

I would agree the NF is the way to go. Had a Lupey 45x and had to get rid of it, could not adjust out the mirage.

Don't quite know what you mean by "adjust out the mirage"? I have never seen a scope adjust out mirage; you may minimize the effect of mirage on your vision of the target by going to lower power but then you will also loose info on the wind.

On my long range 308 I started with a 10x Super Sniper. I then upgraded to a 12-42 Nightforce. I do like 1/8 minute clicks for new F class targets. But due to mirage, I can't remember being able to much over 30x. And I shot some great groups with the 10x, not so sure I'm that much better in results with more power.

I would highly recommend you check how much MOA verticle scope has in it. My buddy has a beautiful Zeiss tactical scope but can't use it at 600 yards with non-MOA adding base due to running out of verticle.

if you want to spend the extra cash go with the march 10-60x,it's alot of money & sometimes you still can't see holes in the black but it is a step up from my nightforce 12-42br model

Thanks for all the responses. I ended up picking up a used Sightron S3 8-32x56. I am going to give it a try for next year and see how it works. Can always upgrade later.

Thanks,
Dallas
