Scope clearance height?

If you had a scope clearance height between the obj bell and barrel, in these measurements, which one would be the best, for all around use? :-\

Why??

1. = .750"

2. = .260"

I personally like the .260" measurement, just looks right.

The closer to the bore the better.As long as it is comfy to look straight into the scope.

For hunting low is better. For paper, if you shoot free-recoil the higher the better. Gets your head away from the stock .
