scope choice

Looking for a new scope for a 6mm br. I was thinking the Nighrforce 5.5-22X50 NXS or the Swarovski 3.5-18X44. Any thoughts these scopes as I have not saw or used either of them?

I have both and if a walking varmint rifle, go with the Swarovski as around 6 ounces or so lighter as I recall. For best use on small critters such as squirrels, prairie dogs, etc., go with the Nightforce due to extra magnification (I prefer a max power of more like 30 or even 50). I went on an extended long-range ground squirrel shoot at Calif/Oreg border earlier this year and found that my Sightron III scope was less affected by mirage at the same power settings than these other two scopes. I kept checking this over the course of several days in different conditions and it was uncanny. Don't know why - but found that the lesser cost scope performed the best in tough conditions . And I LOVE Swarovski and Nightforce. Between Nightforce and Swarovski, I believe the Swarovski scopes are brighter than the Nightforce - or at least to my eyes. With my aging eyes, I'd take the extra magnification over the brighness issue - unless I'm carrying it around due to the extra weight.

i have two nightforce scopes and they transmit light very nicely as does the sw...AT A COST! the high end scopes are a must for long range target shooters, but for us target/varmints hunters there are scopes that cost 1/2 or less than these two and serve us well. my latest discovery has been the sightron scopes. i bought 5 off the marketplace and they transmit light almost as well as they nightforce. i chose the 8-32 1/8 min ones and can see only a slight bit of difference from my 8-32 nightforce when sighting targets at 600 yds.
