Scope blurring

do u have a heat shield on the barrel? the heat will rise and cause the scope the blur, someone else will tell you exactly why. My first guess would be the heat rising from the barrel causing a mirage type effect

No I don't and I've been wondering if that was the problem
Just cut a pc of paper about 3 inches wide and length of barrel bout 1 or 2 inches from muzzle lay it on there or use some cardboard with some velcro stickies and try that for now and see what happens, if it works then you can step up to something a little more refined

Most folks don't adjust the crosshair focus correctly. They look at the target while turning the eyepiece. After a second or two, your eye will take over and strain itself to focus on the crosshair. The correct way is to take quick peeks as you adjust, so you are getting the true image of the crosshair.

I have a Leopold 36X this scope is new to me. When I shoot the scope seems to blur after the shot. I'm not sure if it's my eyes or not adjusted properly.
Did you notice this from your first couple of shots ?? If so, it's not
barrel mirage. More then likely, your initial focus is out of whack.
I was advised in my youth to aim a new scope at a clear sky before
mounting to the action. Some will say to use a bare wall. The idea
is to have no obstructions in the viewing, and the cross hair look's
sharp and crisp. Note that when you do the initial focus, you have
your parallax adlustment set to infinity.

Does the parallax adjustment statement apply to scopes used in 50 yd RFBR as well?

Ocular adjustment most likely… google is your friend. THEN objective adjustment. FWIW, Leupold numbers on their objectives NEVER match the actual parallax free settings, don’t just dial in 100 for 100 yards. ;)

Set parrallex at infinity . Look at the sky, adjust the ocular or rear lens until the crosshairs is sharp and clear. Now, adjust parallex until the target is clear and the crosshair remains stationary when slightly moving your head. This is the proper adjustment method.

How old are you? Maybe your eyes....

I just explained the same issue to my eye doc a couple of weeks ago. He said it was dry eyes. So if you see crosshairs well, then that goes away, you blink and it comes back, he said that was dry eyes. Not an eye focus thing with me, as I have lenses after cataract surgeries.

Just passing along info as I received it. Drops seem to help me.
