Scope base options

Hello everyone. Doing some scope moving around which requires a new scope base. 6mmBR 700 with XTR 2 scope. Light recoil gun with a heavy scope, any preferred options out there? Don’t need to have the “best” but I do want something quality. Thoughts?

For a Remington 700 you're going to be spoiled for choice when it comes to a scope base: I'd expect nearly every manufacturer to make a variety of options.

A couple questions that might help better steer you one way or another:
  1. What's your intended use for the rifle (hunting vs. benchrest vs. other matches. vs...)?
  2. Do you know whether you want a one-piece rail?
  3. Do you already have your rings (or at least your desired brand and/or style of rings) picked out?

1. It will be a bench gun.
2. I would like to go one piece.
3. I’m still looking at rings as well. Would prefer picatinny style ring

My first thought was EGW HD base (alum) with possibly their rings as well.

Ive used my fair share of different setups on various rifles, leupold standards, Talley one-piece, just nothing in the realm of pic rail and rings. Just looking for some feedback or satisfied shooters.

A lot of options out there for the 700. I have both Warne and Talley picatinny base on two different Remington 700s. On both I use the Burris signature rings with inserts, never have an issue with either. For short range BR (score) I use Harrells rings and bases on a different 700. All I can say about Harrells is, they are of the highest quality and great customer service, and highly recommended.

Check out Hank's Precision Gun Parts. I have purchased and am using several of his products currently. All top quality stuff also he is a custom rifle builder.

I use EGW bases, and recently started using their Keystone line of rings.
Never an issue with their bases!

Their new Keystone rings are seriously over built!
No lapping required. I took a couple of swipes with a lap bar just to see how they were. Full contact.
Low, 30mm weigh in at 2.25 ounces each.

I highly recommend them!

I can recommend a Picatinny rail base and Nightforce rings. I use them on my 22-250 and 6BR varmint guns. Have never had any problems with my Nightforce scopes , and they are rather heavy.

Thanks, that is very helpful!

I've been quite happy over the years with Warne rings; I've never used their bases, but if their rings are any guide I would expect them to be very good. I've been quite happy with the Vortex rings, too. I use BKL rings on my rimfire scope (they're one of the few cantilevered options for 11mm rails), and they're also excellent: I swap irons and scope on that gun constantly and have never had an issue with return-to-zero.

I would recommend getting rings and base from the same manufacturer if you can: some can have just different enough definitions of "standard" that getting things mounted can be a bit tricky.
