Scope Base Options - BAT Neuvo (Short Model) Action - Tell Us Please.

I'm looking into what is available for this action as far as scope base options. And I'm NOT concerned with the LR model that has an integral scope base. - I'm looking to make weight on a 13.5 pound VFS rig.

I use the standard Bat 2 piece bases glued and screwed to the action. Along with JJloh rings. Flawless so far.

Just built a DS, black BAT bases/rings.

I use the davidson type bases with kelbly dovetail. I never want to be locked into a fixed ring myself. I believe mine cane from harrels or pma and i know my rings came from harrels. You wont have an issue making 13.5lbs. Most hv rifles only weigh 12 something.

No experience with the Nuevo, but I'm with Dusty & INShooter in regards to using separate bases and rings as opposed to a direct mount setup. With a good dovetail setup, you can quickly swap out scopes if yours craps the bed in the middle of a match.

I finally made it back to this thread to check the feedback from other members. My experience with components and set up for the 100/200/300 yard game is very limited and I’m looking at components and because weight is certainly a factor I need to plan ahead.

Also, thank you to the other members who’ve posted up with your experiences as I have a tendency to overbuild when it comes to mounting scopes due to having a failure where a base actually “shot loose” on a heavy recoiling big caliber rifle.

You cant hardly get a hv stock and hv taper barrel and heavy march scope to weigh 13.5 if the barrel is a normal vfs length. You could use steel picatinny rings and not get there unless you overbuilt with some badgers
