Scope angle question?

If I want to shoot an Anschutz with standard velocity ammo and using the factory grooved receiver with Burris Signature rings with combined 20 and 10 degree off-set inserts will I be able to get enough elevation to hit a target at 150? 200? yards?

Can you even combine them by putting a 20 in the front ring to lower the scope and the 10 degree upside down in the rear to raise it to gain elevation?

Or should i just get a 20 MOA rail instead of the Burris rings?

Currently with BKL rings on the same rifle I can barely get on the 100 yard target without running out of elevation.

I have an Anschutz 1913 that I use for smallbore prone shooting. Purchased a 20 moa scope base for 200 yd shooting. Works like a champ.

in2deep,

With the 10 degree inserts I can go from the 50 yard targets out to the 200 yard targets with room to spare using a Leupold 24X target scope on my H&R M12 rifle. And, this is using match ammo in the 1050 f/s range. You should have no trouble with your Anchutz.

Yes, you can use the 20 & 10 MOA inserts in the two rings to move the scope 30 MOA. To move the POI up, you would put the + insert in the bottom rear ring and the - insert in the bottom front ring.
The instructions will tell you to be sure to use the inserts in pairs. In other words, the +10 and -10 inserts are to be used together.

You'll need between 25 - 27.5 MOA to get 200 yds (depending on speed)

That's been my experience. I use the +/- .020" and +/- .010" (or +/-.005") inserts for 200 yds. They're still good for 50 yds. I guess exactly what you'll need depends on your scope's range of internal adjustments. I use this setup with a Weaver T24 and a T36.

I have the 30 mm Burris BLK DIA's so 20 Moa total in rings the rest is scope. We shoot a modified (mini) Palma with the 22's it's a BLAST. 20 , 50, 100, 150 , 200 yds
