Scheels

That's SE Phoenix metro. To where my friend lives in NW Phoenix (N. Peoria) it's a 1 hour drive. Yikes.
_

First on my list to never go there is California, 2nd is Mexico, then 3rd Chandler!! Well it's not that bad, actually a new upstart suburb, but doubt seriously if I would travel that far it's four hours from my place. I do travel to the valley but always the north and west sides. But good to know there is something new and well respected going in down there.

I am 10 minutes from Cabelas/Bass Pro, I drive 40 minutes to Scheels. Been several years since I went into my local C/BP.
You're in Elk river and drive to SC? LOL! Fun trying to guess everyone's location. Just a head's up it's more of a department store with men's, women's and kids clothes and golf, tennis, camping, and fishing stuff. Dad's section is very small! Cooper rifle shop! Small reloading dept! Bring a big credit card!

I have Scheels within half hour In Coralville, Ia on interstate 80 and I380, very good store. My son is in Frisco, TX and they have a new store on south end, big and very nice. Military/Leo Discount 5% I believe for all Scheels on everything even sale items I believe but verify.

BP in Des Moines does no used guns or trades so don't go there except for shirts, pants etc.. Some times some good deals and nice stuff.

Your significant other can shop the Chandler Fashion Mall and Costco while you shop Scheel's and then you both have dinner at your choice of a hundred different places while the two of you compare who got the best deal.

She'll consider your shopping at Scheel's a bonding experience.

And you'll have a new shotgun and a new varmint rifle with Nightforce scope and a year's supply of ammo... all for the experience of bonding. And you can compare your new red Forster Coax with her new red shoes.

I met a life long hunting and shooting buddy at the Scheels in Moorhead MN around 1994. That store isn't there anymore but they do have a super store in Fargo. Great place to do business. Bass Pro and Cabela's are in trouble.....

I have a BP near by, but they never have what I want. Prices are as stupid as the employees.
Me: why are the Rem match primers 1/2 the price of Std Cci?
Them: because they're match primers.

Cabela's and Bass Pro here in Austin/San Antonio area are no bargain. And they seem to think every male shopper is 5'10" and 350 lbs. Even Costco has a better selection of clothing for taller/slimmer people.

I wish there was a Scheel's in this area.

In Reno, NV area, it was always a better bet to visit Scheel's in Sparks than Cabela's at Boomtown. (Did you know that Reno is close enough to hell to see Sparks?)

As far as I can tell, Scheels is the last great sporting goods chain. Too bad I'm probably a thousand miles from the closest one.

Cabelas used to be great...it's shell of its former self.

Im based out of Mesa, which borders chandler. Hopefully Sheels will be better than Sportsman’s warehouse, there’s one of those too in the area and it hasn’t been all that, better than nothing though. Bruno’s is almost an hour away from chandler, still worth the drive if you’re really hunting reloading components and equipment. Being that Scheels is employee owned that gives a guy high hopes. They do a great job over the internet.

Received their gun-products catalog yesterday. It was impressively done. They seem to carry a lot of top- name merchandise. Don't know about pricing.
